Sensory Support

Does your child find everyday experiences overwhelming? Perhaps noisy classrooms, busy places or the feel of certain clothes can make the day difficult. They may seek lots of movement, find it hard to settle, or come home from school exhausted.

You may have heard the term “sensory needs” but feel unsure what it means or how to help.

BICP’s Sensory Support Service helps families understand how their child responds to sensory experiences and explore practical ways to make everyday life more comfortable and manageable—at home, at school and out in the community.

Our approach is supportive and neuro-affirming: we recognise and respect different ways of experiencing the world. We work with you to understand your child’s strengths, preferences and needs, including what they enjoy, what feels overwhelming and what helps them feel comfortable.

Together, we explore adjustments to environments, routines and activities that support your child’s wellbeing, confidence and participation in the things that matter to them.

Helping you understand your child's sensory world.
